GENERAL  MEETING MINUTES OF APRIL 19, 2014

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 9:30 AM

ROLL CALL: Officers/ coordinators present: n/a

A quorum was declared.

MINUTES:

DIRECTOR’S REPORT: Outgoing SAA director Rev. Joel Reynold Castillo presided, presented the on-going 5-year Jubilee preparation plan which started in 2010 and made a preview of the proposed Alumni Building that was proposed and planned during the Alumni Homecoming last December 30, 2013

1.      Scholarship Fund.

Two students benefited last year from the fund which has been initially funded from contributions including that from the association and Rev. Joel’s honorarium as part time instructor. To date, the fund has a total of P98,617.00 in the bank.

2.      Rev. Joel  will leave Piddig on April 28 to become director of St. Mary’s Seminary He will be succeeded by Rev. Lawrence Torreflores. Rev. Joel is very much willing to assist the association in the on-going preparation of SAA Jubilee in 2015.

3.      The tourism council of Ilocos Norte tagged the church and the school buildings as Spanish heritage buildings and they requested a history of the school building. Rev. Joel then requested Mr. Isaac Pedrera, a distinguished writer and an alumni of SAA to write one.

4.      The money collected from among the pledges and from the Libro de Oro signatures which is intended to finance the construction of the  Alumni building is now P68,489.35.

FORMER PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Past president Engr. Rogelio Jose presented the financial status and expenditures of the association in the past Homecoming and handed over (together with Ms. Mary Jay Quidilla, the Sub-Treasurer) the financial records of the association to the present officers.

NEW BUSINESS

Alumni Secretariat. Beginning this school opening 2014-2015, the school will hire a part time employee to work 2 days a week doing paperwork and social promotion of the incoming Jubilee celebration. His salary will be shouldered both by the school and the association. He will be given office and internet access. Aside from this, he will be given load to teach computer subjects.

Jubilee Preparation. To make smooth preparations, a steering committee is tasked to oversee the activities to follow:

December 30, 2015     -           Alumni Homecoming and Closing of the Jubilee year

                       

OLD BUSINESS: 

SAA Jubilee Building – To house the library and two rooms for Grades 11 & 12

Donations are now accepted. Please see the Cashier’s Office.   There had been pledges by batch last homecoming and some were already remitted.  The building will be started and will be presented during the alumni homecomings in February and December 2015
